OUR STORY

LEROY Automation – a member of the AGÔN Electronics group since 2022 – was founded in 1983 as “LEROY Automatique Industrielle” by Mr. Jean LEROY. The company was established after he spent twelve years at Merlin-Gérin in Grenoble (now Schneider Electric™). Jean LEROY was a brilliant and passionate engineer, having graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint‑Étienne in 1967.

He grew and expanded his company’s influence by leveraging visionary technologies and cutting-edge innovations, all while skillfully navigating a constantly evolving environment. For over 20 years, he drove the company’s growth by designing and manufacturing modular input/output (I/O) modules and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

In the 2000s, the company was renamed LEROY Automation™, becoming a world-renowned brand. Jean LEROY appointed Mr. Alain WOJTASZAK as General Manager, who led the company’s transformation and specialization into niche markets. Drawing on his experience with major international industrial and automotive equipment manufacturers, Alain WOJTASZAK spearheaded the growth, innovation, and strategic direction of LEROY Automation before handing over leadership to David VAYSSIE in 2025.

Supported by a team of experts, this rapidly expanding company is now established as a major player in control and command systems across the international rail, energy, defense, and industrial markets

LEROY Automation’S POSITION WITHIN THE GROUP

LEROY Automation is an equipment manufacturer that designs complex electronic systems. It is supported by the AGÔN Electronics group’s other companies in its industrial activities, including:

• Rapid prototyping of PCBs with TEAM31;
• Production of PCBs in small and medium-sized runs with PHENIX Electronique;
• Production of PCBs and integration of industrial products in medium-sized and large runs with FEDD.

In addition, LEROY Automation ensures the traceability of all its individual products and electronic systems throughout their entire lifecycle, thanks to database management tools developed in-house and customized by the AGÔN Electronics group to specifically meet our business needs

A strong synergy within the AGÔN Railway Business Unit

As a driving member of the AGÔN Railway Business Unit, LEROY Automation works in close collaboration with MIOS Elettronica. This alliance enables the integration of cutting-edge technologies into our railway control and command architectures, such as:

JRU (Juridical Event Recorders);
CPM (Crash Protected Memory devices);
Ethernet switches/routers for TCN (Train Communication Network) infrastructure;
T2G (Train-to-Ground) communication access points;
Multi-protocol communication gateways (MVB, Ethernet, CAN, RS-485/RS-422/RS-232, etc.).

In conjunction with all the skills of the AGÔN Electronics group, LEROY Automation offers a catalogue of electronic products, control and operation systems and engineering services tailored to its markets. It modifies and customises products, as well as designing new ones to meet the precise needs of its clients and partners.
